1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
- Bot: taz (also referred to as Taz Bot), an automated Discord bot, and the associated web Dashboard described below.
- Server / Guild: Any Discord server the Bot has been added to.
- User: Any individual who uses the Bot or Dashboard in any Server.
- Server Staff: Users with server management permissions (such as Manage Server or Administrator) or bot-specific access granted within a Server, who can configure the Bot for that Server.
- Dashboard: The web-based interface used to configure and manage the Bot for a Server.
- We, I, Us: tazldied LLC, the company that created and operates the Bot.
- Support Server: Our official Discord server for announcements, support, and feedback, linked in the Contact section below.
2. Scope
taz is a general-purpose Discord bot that may be added to any Discord server that meets Discord's own requirements for adding apps. These Terms apply to your use of the Bot and Dashboard in any Server, including our own Support Server.
3. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Bot or Dashboard you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot or Dashboard.
If you add the Bot to a Server, you represent that you are authorized to do so (for example, via the Manage Server permission or equivalent authority) and that you agree to these Terms on behalf of that Server.
4. Use of the Bot
- Any use of the Bot must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- You may not use the Bot for harassment, spam, or attempts to interfere with normal operation.
- You may not attempt to access restricted Bot commands or Dashboard sections unless you are authorized to do so.
- You may not attempt to abuse, exploit, or interfere with any Bot feature, including leaderboards, tickets, giveaways, or the counting game.
5. Server Configuration and Staff Access
The Bot is highly configurable. Server Staff can enable, disable, and customize features for their own Server via slash commands and the Dashboard, including moderation settings, leveling, tickets, giveaways, counting, reaction roles, sticky messages, custom commands, welcome/leave messages, and branding.
Server Staff may also grant specific Bot commands to roles or users that do not otherwise hold the matching native Discord permission ("fake permissions"). Server Staff are solely responsible for deciding who receives this kind of access within their own Server, and for the consequences of granting it.
We are not responsible for how any individual Server's Staff configure or use the Bot within that Server.
6. Moderation
The Bot can automatically enforce moderation rules configured by a Server's own Staff. Depending on that Server's configuration, this can include detecting and responding to content such as suspicious links, unwanted invite links, repeated messages, mass mentions, filtered words or phrases, scam-like messages, or other content that Server's settings identify as unsafe, abusive, or disruptive. The Bot also includes optional join-verification and bot/raid-detection tools that can challenge, quarantine, or remove suspicious new members from a Server.
- The Bot will delete or act on messages that violate a Server's rules or Bot-enforced restrictions for that Server.
- The Bot may apply restrictions or moderation depending on severity, including warnings, timeouts (mutes), kicks, temporary bans, and permanent bans, as configured and used by that Server's Staff.
You understand and agree that the Bot, and the Server Staff who configure and operate it, may take moderation action automatically and without individual notice when a configured violation is detected.
7. Logging and Server Records
The Bot creates logs scoped to each Server. These logs can include records related to message deletions, message edits, moderation actions, join/leave activity, and related metadata, and may be visible to that Server's authorized Staff through log channels and the Dashboard.
By using the Bot in a Server, you consent to the creation and use of these internal, Server-scoped logs.
8. Leveling and XP
The Bot includes a leveling system that awards XP based on activity within each Server, including optional prestige tiers and customizable rank cards and leaderboards.
- Leveling data (XP, level, prestige, and related progression) is tracked separately for each Server.
- We reserve the right to change how the leveling system works at any time.
- We, and each Server's Staff (within tools we provide them), reserve the right to modify, reset, or remove progression data at our or their discretion.
9. Tickets, Giveaways, and Other Features
The Bot offers additional configurable features that a Server's Staff may enable, including but not limited to a support-ticket system (with transcripts generated and stored when a ticket is closed), giveaways, a counting game, reaction roles, sticky messages, and custom commands.
Use of these features is subject to the rules and limits set by each Server's Staff and by us (including any usage limits described on our website). We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, the substance of any ticket, giveaway, or other interaction conducted through these features within a Server.
10. taz Plus (Premium Subscription)
taz Plus is an optional, per-Server paid subscription that unlocks additional customization and higher usage limits. taz Plus is purchased and billed directly through Discord's own subscription system at the Server level; we do not process or store your payment card details.
Billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds for taz Plus are handled by Discord under Discord's own terms. For information about our own billing and refund practices where applicable, see our general Billing and Refund Policy.
We reserve the right to change what is included with taz Plus, or to discontinue it, at any time. Content and settings created while a Server had taz Plus are not deleted if the subscription lapses, but may become read-only or capped at free-tier limits until the Server resubscribes.
11. Web Dashboard
The Dashboard lets Server Staff manage Bot settings for Servers they have permission to manage. Logging into the Dashboard uses Discord's own sign-in ("Log in with Discord") and creates a Dashboard session as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure. We may suspend or terminate Dashboard access for any account used to violate these Terms.
12. Data Collection and Privacy
The Bot and Dashboard collect, store, and use data necessary to operate. This includes but is not limited to:
- Your Discord User ID, username, display name, and avatar
- Message edits and deleted message content, where logging is enabled for that Server
- Attachments, links, embeds, and related metadata
- XP, levels, rank, prestige, and leaderboard-related records
- Moderation records (warnings, mutes, kicks, bans) and ticket transcripts
- Server configuration and feature settings chosen by that Server's Staff
- If you log into the Dashboard, your Discord account details and the list of Servers you belong to, used to determine what you're allowed to manage
For more information on how data is stored and handled, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
13. Third-Party Services
The Bot depends on Discord's platform availability and also relies on third-party APIs and cloud infrastructure providers to operate (for example, image APIs used by fun commands, and hosting/storage used to run the Bot and store data such as ticket transcripts). taz Plus billing is also handled entirely by Discord. Some features may be unavailable due to outages, policy changes, or other limitations outside our control.
We are not responsible for issues caused by Discord or any third-party service provider.
14. Bot Availability and Changes
- We reserve the right to modify, add, remove, or discontinue any Bot or Dashboard feature at any time without prior notice.
- We reserve the right to reset or alter stored Bot data via our own discretion.
- We reserve the right to remove the Bot from, or restrict its functionality in, any Server at any time.
- Updates to these Terms will be announced in our Support Server.
15. Termination and Access Restrictions
We may restrict or terminate your access to the Bot or Dashboard, or the Bot's presence in a Server, at any time and for any reason, including abuse of the Bot's features.
16. Limitation of Liability
- We are not responsible for any issues arising from the use or misuse of the Bot or Dashboard, including moderation decisions or configuration choices made by any Server's own Staff.
- The Bot and Dashboard are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
